Copper engraving published in 1780 with the monogram GR III of King George III. on the 4 3/4 milestone on the highway from Hanover to Hameln

On the occasion of the construction of the Chaussee from Hanover to Hameln by Anton Heinrich du Plat , the first volume of the Situations-Cracks of the newly built Chausséen des Churfürstenthms Braunschweig Lüneburg was published; "The stylus of this budding engraver" contributed the illustrative copperplate engravings to this joint work.

The Clevertor Bridge built from 1781 over the Leine in Calenberger Neustadt

On September 11, 1781, Müller received the rank of “Captain” in the Royal British and Electoral Braunschweig-Lüneburg civil service as an engineer. Around 1781, as chief engineer, he was responsible for the construction of a single-arch stone bridge over the Leine near the Clevertor in Hanover; the Clevertor Bridge , with a span of almost 19 meters, was the largest bridge that spanned the river with just one arch, and is still in use.

In the years from 1782 to 1783, captain engineer Müller set up the sovereign piece foundry next to the newly built stone gate , which he built, like the piece foundry in Stockholm, based on the facility in Woolwich , England . The Hanoverian gun foundry was later converted into the artillery barracks.

In 1786, Captain Müller started a "Georgstrasse project". From 1788, a new anatomy building was built on Georgstrasse at the Steintor according to plans by Müller .

In 1790 Müller became a public teacher of mathematics and military science at the University of Göttingen . In 1791 he attended experimental physics with Georg Christoph Lichtenberg , became major in the same year and first lieutenant in 1798. He was a member of the Clausthal Society for Mining Studies. Müller studied experimental physics with Georg Christoph Lichtenberg in the winter semester of 1791/92.
