The Beja Governorate ( Arabic ولاية باجة, DMG Wilāyat Bāǧa ) is one of the 24 governorates of Tunisia .
It is located in the north of the country and covers an area of 3558 km² (2.2 percent of the state territory). The population is 307,300, with about half being under 25 years of age. The capital is the Beja of the same name . The governorate was founded in 1956.
