Grübern is a village and cadastral municipality in the market town of Maissau in Lower Austria .

geography

The place Grübern lies in the depression of the Tiefenbach , which forms west of the place from several tributaries and flows into the Ravelsbach in Oberravelsbach . Retzer Straße leads through the village .

history

First mentioned in a document in 1275 as Griebarn , which is possibly derived from the word "pit" and refers to the protected location, the place developed as an agricultural settlement. After the reforms of 1848/1849 , Grübern constituted itself as an independent municipality in 1850 and was assigned to the Ravelsbach district until 1868 . In 1972 it merged to form the large community of Maissau.
