history

The history of Eggendorf goes back to the time before 1110 and was also influenced by agriculture back then. In addition to the homesteads, there is a mill and the parish church Eggendorf am Walde .

However, in 1930 the local researcher Josef Höbarth found a 24 cm tall, clay-fired female figure in a sand pit, which comes from the Lengyel culture , which dates from 4900 to 4300 BC. Is classified. The figure named after the place where it was found Venus von Eggendorf is now in the Höbarthmuseum in Horn .
