Grabsdorf is a district of Graitschen ad Höhe , a district of Schkölen in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia .

Geography and geology

The hamlet of Grabsdorf is located west of Schkölen near a former erosion channel that was washed into the black earth-like soil west of Schkölen from Frauenprießnitz . From Grabsdorf in the direction of Schkölen, the channel is planted with wood and trees. Graitschen is not far to the north and Willschütz to the south . With a well-paved road, the hamlet with Schkölen and Poppendorf is well connected to traffic.

history

It was first mentioned in a document on January 26, 1511. Originally, the taverns of Tautenburg were lords of the place. After this noble family died out, Grabsdorf belonged to the Electoral Saxon Office of Tautenburg from 1640/52 . With the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the place became part of the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach and in 1822 it was incorporated into the Bürgel and Tautenburg office. In 1850 Grabsdorf became part of the Weimar II administrative district (from 1868: Apolda administrative district ) of the Grand Duchy. Since 1920 the place belongs to the state of Thuringia.

After the Second World War , these farms also went through the development of agriculture in the GDR, including collectivization . After the fall of the Wall they reorganized and worked successfully in the Schkölner area in association or as resettlers. The hamlet is still closely linked to agriculture.
