Graurheindorfer Castle

history

A manor house had stood at the site of today's castle since 1131 and was expanded into a castle around 1478. The current mansion was built in 1755 by Maria Debèche according to plans by Michael Leveilly .

architecture

The two-storey house with an almost square floor plan is located in the middle of a park at the end of an avenue and was built in the style of a small pleasure palace. The facade of the house is structured by house- framed segment arch windows. On the steep mansard roof there is a slider with an octagonal turret. The entrance is accessible via a central double flight of stairs.

Current usage

The building is privately owned and is used as an apartment. The castle, the park and a stone path cross are listed as historical monuments .
