Gregor Erler

Gregor Erler (* 1982 in Berlin ) is a German film director and screenwriter .

Live and act

Erler worked as first assistant director and manager for film production business. In 2004 he began studying film at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg with a focus on stage direction. In 2007 he received the Karl Steinbuch scholarship "for outstanding creative and innovative achievement" and in 2008 he received the Hollywood Masterclass scholarship from the University of California , Los Angeles. His graduation work at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy, the short film St. Christophorus: Roadkill (2010), received several awards.

Gregor Erler shot music videos a. a. for Sarah Connor ( How beautiful you are and unconditionally ), Rea Garvey , Johannes Oerding , Glasperlenspiel ( Royals & Kings ), Bell, Book & Candle , Ben Zucker (so what ?! and What a great time ), Julia Engelmann and EMMA6 (with Josefine Preuß ). His commercials ( Terre des Hommes , Conrad Electronic , Amway and others) have won awards at the LIA London International Awards and the GWA Effie Awards.

Between 2003 and 2010 Gregor Erler made seven short films, some of which have won awards, as a director and (co-) author. In 2018 he shot his first feature film The Last Berliner with Pegah Ferydoni , Matthias Ziesing , Moritz Heidelbach , Wolfgang Packhäuser , Sebastian Achilles and many more. The film premiered at the 53rd Hof International Film Festival and was there a. a. nominated for Best Director, Best Production Design and Best Newcomer Production.
