Creation and artwork
The song was written jointly by Thorsten Brötzmann, Benni Fritsch (Ben Zucker), Philipp Klemz, Roman Lüth and David Robinson. The mixing, production and programming of the piece was done through the collaboration of Brötzmann and Lüth, who can also be heard together on the keyboard. The mastering was carried out by HP Mastering Hamburg , under the direction of the studio owner Hans-Philipp Graf. Robinson was responsible for the vocal recordings. In addition to Brötzmann and Lütz on the keyboard, the well-known studio musician Peter Weihe was hired to play the guitar sounds . What a great time was published under the music label Airforce1 by BMG Rights Management , Publishing Philipp Klemz, elephants Edition, the Hanseatic music publisher , Sony / ATV Music Publishing , TB Music Publishing and Warner / Chappell Music relocated and by Universal Music Publishing sold .

The first publication of What a great time was done as a single download on October 20, 2017. Around appeared later with THREE MONTHS What a great time (Remixes) a maxi-single with three remixes by renowned DJs like the Austrian DJ duo Darius & Finlay or the German DJ Sean Finn, for download on January 12, 2018.
To promote the song, there were a number of live appearances during prime time at Schlagerbooom - Internationales Schlagerfest ( ARD ), Die Schlager des Jahres ( HR / MDR / NDR / rbb ), Heimlich! - Big hit surprise (ARD), the party with Ross Antony (MDR), the hit night of the year 2018 from the Berlin Waldbühne (rbb) or at the Schlagerchampions - Big Festival of the Best 2019 (ARD). The composition comes from the collaboration between Brötzmann, Fritsch, Klemz and Roman Lüth. Musically, the song is moving in the field of Pop - Schlager . The tempo is 128 beats per minute . Music video
The music video for Was für ein Geile Zeit was shot in a so-called Troadkastn in Flachau ( Austria ) and celebrated its premiere on February 8, 2018 on YouTube . In terms of content, the video is to be divided into three sections. During the first almost three minutes you can see scenes of Zucker, who on the one hand sings the song with his guitar in the Troadkastn and on the other hand scenes of him spending the day outdoors. In the outdoor scenes, Zucker can be seen cycling in the snow, sledding , tobogganing on a natural track or having a snowball fight with his friends. At the end of the video, Zucker celebrates a party accompanied by neon lights with his friends in the Troadkastn. The total length of the video is 3:37 minutes. The director was the Berlin film director Gregor Erler . To date, the music video has over 12.3 million views on YouTube (as of December 2018).

What a great time it reached position 99 in the single charts in Germany and stayed in the charts for a whole week. The single was only able to make it into the official German Top 100 singles ten months after it was released. In addition, the single was placed in the German iTunes daily evaluations on 72 days and reached its highest ranking on October 22, 2017 at position eight. In the Swiss charts , the single also reached position 74 in one week of the chart.
After Der Sonne gegen, it is the second chart success for Zucker as an author and performer in the official German single charts. In the Swiss hit parade it is also after So what ?! the second chart success in both functions. With this, Brötzmann reached the German charts for the 75th time and the Swiss hit parade for the 34th time in his work as an author or music producer. For Lüth, Was für ein Geile Zeit is the sixth chart success in the German single charts as a music producer and the second after Superstar ( DJ Bobo ) as an author. In Switzerland this is his fifth chart success as a producer and after superstar (DJ Bobo) and so what ?! (Ben Zucker) third in his writing. Klemz reached the German charts as an author for the second time after Der Sonne gegen (Ben Zucker) and also for the second time after Na and ?! (Ben Zucker) the Swiss hit parade. For Robinson it is the first chart success in his writing in both countries.
