The Greve is a 48 km long river in the Tuscany region of Italy, which crosses the metropolitan city of Florence from south to north and flows into Florence as a left tributary into the Arno .

course

The river rises on the northern slope of the mountain Monte Querciabella, which lies between Radda in Chianti (southern part, Chianti senese) and Greve in Chianti (northern part, Chianti fiorentino). First, the river flows through the center of Greve in Chianti (236 meters above sea level) and then from Passa di Pecorai along Strada Provinciale 3 (SP3) to act as the border river between the municipalities of Greve in Chianti and San Casciano in Val di Pesa . From Ferrone it is the border river between the municipalities of San Casciano in Val di Pesa and Impruneta . Shortly afterwards he passed the Florence American Cemetery and Memorial . From Falciani he follows the Via Cassia to Tavarnuzze, where he enters the municipality of Florence and passes the A1 ( Autostrada del Sole ) and then the Certosa San Lorenzo di Galluzzo . Here the tributary Ema joins. Shortly after Ponte all'Asse (also known as Ponte dell'Asse ), he enters the municipality of Scandicci (47 meters in altitude), which he traverses 3 km, then comes back to Florence at Ponte a Greve and here at Peretola Arno to flow.
