Grillparzer ring

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Grillparzer Ring is a ring with the monogram of Franz Grillparzer , donated in 1964 by the Austrian Ministry of Education (under Theodor Piffl-Perčević ) and awarded for the first time in 1965 . It is not to be confused with the Franz Grillparzer Prize .

It is an award for theater directors, artistic directors, directors, actors, stage and costume designers, dramaturges, editors, translators and scientists who have made special contributions to the work of Franz Grillparzer. In accordance with the foundation's intention , the insignia was awarded to two personalities each year, with a few exceptions.

The price was from its inception in 1962, launched series of events Grillparzer forum , Forchtenstein bound. In 1983 the focus on Grillparzer was abandoned for the pieces previously performed in the castle (due to a lack of audience approval and state funds) and the Grillparzer Forum moved to Vienna. In 1983, the last Grillparzer ring to originate in Burgenland was awarded to the Japanese Germanist Ryuichi Sugawara . The theater scholar Hilde Haider-Pregler (* 1941) supervised the Viennese events of the Grillparzer Forum , which should have existed until around 1994. Haider-Pregler is also said to be the bearer of the Grillparzer Ring .
