Griselda González

Griselda María de los Ángeles González Santillo (born December 4, 1965 in Buenos Aires ) is a former Spanish long-distance runner of Argentine origin.

In 1987 and 1988 she was South American runner-up in cross-country skiing and South American champion in 1989. At the World Cross Country Championships in Auckland in 1988 she came in 116th place.

In 1991 she came at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo over 10,000 m on the 22nd place. Over the same distance, she was Ibero-American runner-up in 1992 and was eliminated from the Olympic Games in Barcelona in the preliminary stages. She was South American runner-up over 3000 m in Lima in 1993 .

In 1995 she was third in the Turin Marathon , came in at the 1995 World Half Marathon Championships in 24th place and was fifth in the New York City Marathon . At the marathon of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, she came in 19th. In 1997 she was third again in Turin and became Argentine champion with her victory at the Buenos Aires Marathon , which she had already won in 1988.

After changing her nationality, she triumphed at the Barcelona Marathon in 2000 and came 33rd at the Olympic Games in Sydney . The following year she was sixth at the Rotterdam Marathon and finished 29th at the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton .

In 2002 she was ninth in the Berlin Marathon , in 2004 fourth in the Milan Marathon and in 2005 eleventh in the Paris Marathon .

In 1987 she became the Argentine champion in the half marathon and in 1989 in the cross country, in 2000 and 2002 she was the Spanish champion in the half marathon.
