The Grob-Werke GmbH & Co. KG is the holding company of coarse Group . The family company operates in the machine tool sector. The plant is headquartered in Mindelheim in Upper Swabia in the Unterallgäu district .

history

The Grob-Werke were founded in 1926 by Ernst Grob in Munich . Burkhart Grob (* 1926; † May 20, 2016) headed the company from 1952 . Initially, the focus was on the production of internal combustion engines and machine tools . In 1956 the first foreign plant was founded in São Paulo (Brazil). The plant in Mindelheim was built in 1968, and the manufacture of transfer lines began there .

Corporate structure

Until 2006, the Grob-Werke consisted of the independent machine tools and aerospace sectors . The aerospace division was sold in 2006 and then traded as Grob Aerospace AG , and since 2009 as Grob Aircraft AG . The Mindelheim location has been the main factory of Grob-Werke since 1976 and therefore also the main headquarters. The Mindelheim plant has a production area of ​​more than 180,000 m 2 .

Machine tools

The company has in addition to the main plant Mindelheim production facilities in Bluffton (Ohio) ( United States ), Dalian ( China ), Sao Paulo ( Brazil ) and Buttigliera Alta ( Italy ) and provides machining centers and assembly equipment and linking systems for production and assembly lines here. Our specialty is the planning and creation of complete production systems for engines , vehicle transmissions , injection pumps and the like. This makes Grob a supplier to the automotive industry and its suppliers worldwide.
