Gustav Kilian (born January 29, 1897 in Langendreer , † June 25, 1960 in Rotenburg an der Fulda ) was a German politician .

Life

Born the son of a Reichsbahn chief secretary, Kilian took part in the First World War from 1914 to 1919 as a war volunteer after attending the secondary school in Langendreer , most recently as a lieutenant in the reserve . From 1919 he studied economics and political science in Düsseldorf at the University of Local Administration and in Cologne . During his studies he became a member of the Alemannia Cologne fraternity . In 1922 he became a graduate economist and until 1923 was a scientific assistant at the Unna-Kamen administration in Unna . He was then head of the personnel department at Rheinische Stahlwerke until 1929 , and then mayor of Wolfhagen until 1934 . In 1933 he became a member of the NSDAP (membership number 1.848.317) and the SA , where he was most recently Hauptsturmführer .

In 1934 he became head of the provincial fire brigade of the Hesse-Nassau province , where he was responsible, among other things, for the construction of the Hessian state fire brigade school in Kassel . From 1934 to 1939 he was mayor of Rotenburg an der Fulda. From 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War, including the Western and Eastern campaigns . In 1942 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross as a reserve captain and company commander in a guard battalion . From 1942 to 1945 he was the mayor of the city of Kutno . In 1945 he became a colonel in the reserve and regimental commander . He was taken prisoner by the Soviets , from which he was released in 1955.

He became a member of the city ​​council and the district committee in Rotenburg an der Fulda . In 1958 he was deputy district chairman and parliamentary group leader of the German party . He was also the district fire brigade leader in the Rotenburg an der Fulda district .
