The grammar school Dorfen is located in the school center on the northern outskirts of the city of Dorfen in the district of Erding in Upper Bavaria .

history

In 1974, the State Gymnasium Dorfen started school with grades 5 and 6, initially in the former girls' school on Ruprechtsberg, which the city of Dorfen provided. The administrative district of Erding has been responsible for material expenses since the school was founded, and it finally built a new building on Josef-Martin-Bauer- Strasse in 1978/79 . Furthermore, after the 10th grade, the students had to complete the upper level in neighboring high schools. It was not until 1983 that the approval of the full expansion took place, so that in 1986 the first Abitur examination could take place at the grammar school Dorfen. Extension buildings were realized in 1985/86, 1994–97, 2006/07 and 2014/15. The building complex includes five IT rooms, three gyms and a cafeteria. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards. The highest number of pupils was 1384 (September 2009, still in the G9). In the 2019/20 school year, 964 students attended grammar school in Dorfen.
