The Sarstedt grammar school is both a grammar school and an open all-day school in Sarstedt . The students come from the city of Sarstedt and within a radius of around 20 kilometers from the Hildesheim district .

Emergence

In 1971 a strong year with 315 students was registered at the Himmelsthür grammar school in Hildesheim. Since this exceeded the school's capacity, it was decided to found three grammar schools in the Hildesheim area, one of them in Sarstedt.

On September 18, 1972, the foundation stone for the current building in Sarstedt was laid, at that time still without a sports hall and city hall. The new school building was inaugurated on August 23, 1973 by then District Administrator Kurt Grobe . On August 1, 1974, the orientation stage was introduced in Sarstedt . Now the grammar school only began with the seventh grade. The orientation level moved to the Realschule building, and the Realschule students moved to premises in the grammar school. In 2004 the orientation stage was dissolved again. As a result, the secondary school was able to return to its original building.

The sports hall was built from 1981 to 1982. The number of students at the grammar school at that time was over a thousand students. Today's sports field was completed on September 20, 1986 and is used jointly with the Schiller High School in Sarstedt .

Between 1990 and 1992 the school yard of the grammar school was redesigned for the first time.

principal

The first headmaster of the grammar school was Dr. Dieter Ahrens. He gave his office on July 19, 1994 to Dr. Wolfgang Tischer continues. Christine Klein has been running the school since August 2010 .

architecture

The outdoor area of the Sarstedt high school consists of a volleyball , a soccer and a basketball court . There is also an approximately 10 m high climbing pyramid that was inaugurated on September 20, 2006. It was built 50% with the funds of the joint venture . Originally the construction of a bouldering or climbing wall was planned along the sports hall, but this could not be realized due to a lack of financial means. Table tennis tables and bike racks are also available.

A multi-purpose hall, also known as the city hall or cafeteria , was inaugurated on May 5, 2011 for the entire Sarstedt school center. Before that, the first groundbreaking was done by the then Federal President Christian Wulf . It is designed for 200 people. This is below the total number of students at the Albert Schweitzer primary school in Sarstedt , the Schiller secondary school in Sarstedt and the grammar school in Sarstedt. Before the cafeteria could be used for lunch, the cafeteria in the grammar school was used.

The Sarstedt high school is divided into several parts of the building for art and music lessons , as well as teaching in the natural sciences .

There is a library that was estimated at around 14,000 media as of 2008. Including books , magazines , CD-ROMs and DVDs . Every year the school provides the library with 400 euros. The association also donated around 50 books worth around 500 euros.

School council and school newspaper

The interests of the Sarstedt high school students are represented by the student council (SR). Its tasks are carried out by the participants of the so-called PR group ( public relations ) and the active group , which coordinates the cooperation with the Hannover 96 football club .

Reporting on the school-internal topics is done by the pupils on the basis of the school newspaper , called "Senfblatt" , which they have published again since 2012/2013 after a ten-year break . Before that there had been the school newspaper "Pflugblatt" in the eighties and early nineties, of which more than twenty issues had appeared at irregular intervals.

Community work

The school's joint venture was founded in 1975 with the aim of providing financial support for the school and school life. In 2012 it had around 700 members and in the same year invested around 13,000 euros in promoting school programs. One of the biggest projects was the acquisition of computers and laptops for the high school. With the financing of software licenses, camcorders, cameras, tripods and USB projectors, the use of new media was created. The offer of a school lunch was also supported.
