Håkan Ericson (born May 29, 1960 ) is a Swedish football coach . Since the beginning of 2011, the son of the former Swedish senior national coach Georg Ericson has been in charge of the Swedish U-21 team .

Career

As a player, Ericson only succeeded as a youth player or in the lower class area and was active for Åby IF , FK Kick and IK Sleipner . In 1983 he took over his first coaching position when he was in charge of the FK Kick . In the 1987 season he was head coach at the fourth division club Råsunda IS , with whom he rose to the third highest division at the end of the season. Then the Solna first division AIK hired him as a coaching assistant , in the following two seasons he supported Sanny Åslund in the Allsvenskan .

In 1990 Ericson took over a head coach again and was responsible for the football team of the then second division club Väsby IK . In 1992 he took over the league rivals Vasalunds IF for a season together with Erik Hamrén , before returning to Väsby IK, who had meanwhile been relegated to the third division. There he missed the direct return as runner-up in the promotion games when Stenungsunds IF prevailed. With only one season defeat, the club rose as a season winner in the following season in the second division, but separated in view of the missed relegation of coach Ericson. In 1997 he took over the second division Motala AIF for two seasons . Then he signed the league competitor Nacka FF , but with the club he missed the qualification for the single-track Superettan . In autumn 2001, IFK Norrköping , who was in the relegation battle of the Allsvenskan, hired him as assistant to interim coach Tor-Arne Fredheim . First he was assistant to the newly signed coach Bengt-Arne Strömberg the following year , after his dismissal in May 2002 he rose to his successor. As penultimate, the club rose at the end of the 2002 season from the Allsvenskan. As a relegated club, however, only succeeded in the middle of the table in the Superettan. In September 2003, the club separated from its coach.

First, Ericson, who had been Riksinstructor for Svenska Fotbollförbundet since 1994, taught coach training at Örebro University from 2004 . From 2007 he was responsible for coach training at the Swedish Association.
