Farchernhof

The property originally belonged to the Portendorf rulership and was sold twelve times between 1745 and 1822 alone. Only after the fire in Portendorf Castle at the beginning of the 19th century was the old Farchernhof converted into a manor house. In 1822 the property was auctioned because Urban Leitgeb, who had acquired it in 1813, had to plunge into debt due to the expansion. Karl Felix Tschabuschnigg became the new lord of the castle. After two sales, Karl Freiherr von Knobloch followed as owner in 1861, who also acquired Gut Portendorf in 1865. But he too soon sold his property. In 1881 the Farchernhof was bought by Josef Wehsiken by Dr. Josef von Vest, whose son, Dr. Hermann von Vest, who in 1904 expanded the building to the size it is today in terms of the area. In 1928 Erich von Boehm-Bezing bought the property. In the early 1970s, Erich von Boehm-Bezing's son Leopold added another storey to the manor house and at the same time renovated the facade.

The elongated, three-storey building towering over a rectangular floor plan has a low hipped roof, which is enlivened on the south side by a triangular gable with an oval window. On the south side, the center of the building is also enlivened by a balcony with delicate iron bars supported by slender pillars. This balcony protects the entrance door. The opposite side only has a small balcony at the corner of the building.

The ground floor is separated from the upper floors by a wide plaster band, while a corresponding band does not run between the upper floors, but is divided over the width of the windows. All windows, eight on the long sides and two on the narrow sides, have simple plastering flaps and the corners of the building are emphasized by cuboids. In front of the south side of the manor house, there are small “cavalier houses” on both sides, which give the building a castle-like character.

The country house, five-axis on the long sides and two-axis on the broad sides, is single-story and has a hipped roof. A small bell tower rides on the ridge. The upper floor is separated from the ground floor by a plaster band and the south-facing main front has a centrally positioned, porch-like balcony.

Herzoghof

The "Hube in Blasendorf" was the headquarters of the duke farmers. This, an Edlinger, had various privileges. They concerned not only the ceremonies on the customs field, but also the exemption from taxes for one hat each in Blasendorf and Poggersdorf as well as (since 1729) the free importation of 120 buckets of "Welschen wine", which was sold in the associated inn. The first duke builder named in a document (March 27, 1414) was Gregor Schatter; his descendants called themselves Herzogbauer or Edlingbauer or just Herzog or Edlinger. In the church registers they are recorded under the name of Herzog. The last Herzogbauer wrote to himself Josef Herzog-Edlinger. He was born on September 27, 1768 in Blasendorf and died in poverty on June 4, 1823 in Klagenfurt. As early as 1801 the Herzoghof had passed into other hands; on February 27th the wine privilege was exercised for the last time. The farmers organized a big funeral for Josef Herzog-Edlinger; his grave in Sankt Jakob an der Straße is nonetheless unknown.

The center is not only an animal shelter, but also a contact point for information about animal husbandry and animal welfare . In addition, an animal rescue service is available 24 hours a day.
