Hüseyin Özgürgün (* 1965 in Nicosia ) is a Turkish-Cypriot politician. From April 16, 2016 to 2018, he was Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus . He was also party chairman of the Ulusal Birlik Partisi until the end of 2018 .

Hüseyin Özgürgün studied political science at the University of Ankara and administrative science in the UK . 1998, 2003 and 2005, he was appointed Members of Parliament only by Turkey recognized TRNC selected. In 2006 he was chairman of the conservative National Unity Party (UBP) for a few months. From 2009 to 2013 Özgürgün was Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus . After Prime Minister Derviş Eroğlu took over the office of President on April 23, 2010, Özgürgün led the affairs of government on an interim basis until İrsen Küçük took office on May 17, 2010. From April 16, 2016, he succeeded Ömer Kalyoncu as Prime Minister of the Republic of Northern Cyprus. Tufan Erhürman replaced him in 2018 .

In addition to his political activities, Özgürgün was also successful as an athlete, including a soccer player. He is married and has two children.
