history

Around 1121, the Reinhardsbrunn monastery in Oberellen donated a provost office , which was sold by Elector Friedrich to Curt von Hanstein during the Peasants' War . After his death and long inheritance disputes, the land was divided into two family lines, the Rothenbacher and the Henstädter line. In 1838 the town of Oberellen bought its hand and cocking drones from the manor for 6,000 thalers. The land extended partly to Eisenacher (the basalt points St. Christophelskuppe and Pflasterkaute) and Meininger Boden. The three courtyards Frommeshof, Hütschhof and Clausberg belonged to Meininger Boden .

The Hütschhof (Hitschhof, Hitshof, Hutschenhof) was a Vorwerk half an hour from Oberellen on the road from Eisenach to Berka on a small plateau near the forest. At that time the Hütschhof had 1 house, 1 family, 16 residents, 6 horses, 29 cattle, 393 sheep and 13 pigs, all owned by the Rothenbach family. In the first half of the 20th century , Freiherr Baron von Ellrichshausen bought the Hütschhof land from the von Hanstein family and built the Hütschhof manor, which was designed as an estate, from around 1932 to 1936.

With the Potsdam Agreement after the Second World War , the Allies also envisaged an “emergency tax on all major landowners”. The agricultural lands of Freiherr Baron von Ellrichshausen were transferred to the state of Thuringia for administration on the orders of the Soviet military administration. It was used by an agricultural cooperative and private tenants. In 1998, the state of Thuringia sold the land after final clarification of ownership. The family of Freiherr Baron von Ellrichshausen is now based in Argentina and was not interested in taking over the land again. The tenants now residing in the country were able to enter into purchase negotiations with the state of Thuringia. Six families currently live at Gut Hütschhof.
