The Meileshof is a district of the Gerstungen community in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

The Meileshof is located about 1.5 kilometers east of the local area of ​​Marksuhl and about 11 kilometers (as the crow flies ) from the district town of Bad Salzungen .

history

The Meileshof belongs to a group of courtyards and small settlements ( Baueshof , Clausberg , Lutzberg , Kriegersberg , Hütschhof , Frommeshof , Rangenhof , Mölmeshof , Lindigshof , Josthof and others) that have been in the area of ​​the Frankenstein counts and their home monastery Frauensee since the high Middle Ages in the Buntsandstein- Hill country near Marksuhl were founded.

In the middle of the 19th century the Meileshof had 5 houses and 24 residents. The place had always been parish and schooled in Marksuhl. Immediately north of the village is the Marksuhl stop of the Werra Railway .
