The HK Mogo is a 2014 founded Hockey Association from Riga ( Latvia ), who play their home games since 2015 in Mogo ledus hall discharges. The association's namesake and main sponsor is the Latvian financial company Mogo . Since 2014 the club has participated in the semi-professional Latvian ice hockey league and in the Latvian ice hockey cup.
history
HK Mogo was founded in 2014 by the financial company Mogo and immediately started playing in the Latvian ice hockey league. The club played its home games in the Inbox.lv ledus hall and in October 2016 moved to the renovated Mogo ledus hall (the former Akadēmijas ledus hall ).
In 2015, the club won its first championship title in its first year of existence and was able to repeat this success in 2019. In addition, the club won three Latvian Cups between 2016 and 2018 .
Due to the championship title in 2015, HK Mogo qualified for the second round of the IIHF Continental Cup 2015/16 . With three victories over CH Jaca , HDD Jesenice and DVTK Jegesmedvék , the club reached the third round. In this, the HK Mogo was defeated by the HC Asiago , the Herning Blue Fox and the HK Ertis Pawlodar and finished last in group D.
For the IIHF Continental Cup 2019/20 , the HK Mogo was divided into the second round, Group C.
