Hagen is a district of the North Rhine-Westphalian district town of Viersen .

history

Until December 31, 1969, Hagen was part of the former municipality of Oedt . He was reassigned to Viersen on January 1, 1970 . Since then , Hagen has been part of the Süchteln district within Viersen .

Hagen is mainly known to the residents of the surrounding towns as a traffic junction:
this is where the L 391 (from Mülhausen and Oedt ) and the K 17 (from Anrath and Neersen ) meet with the L 475 (Tönisvorster Straße), which runs from Schwalmtal via Süchteln and Tönisvorst leads to Krefeld .

Rail transport

A normal-gauge small railway line of the Krefeld Railway used to run through Hagen, but has now been closed and converted into a cycle path.

Bus transport

As a district of Viersen, Hagen is part of the Rhein-Ruhr transport association and is served by two SWK bus routes:

  • Line 064 with the stops " Hagen " and " Vennbruch ":
It comes from Brüggen - Bracht via Nettetal - Lobberich and Süchteln to Hagen and continues towards Tönisvorst - St.Tönis . There is a connection to the Krefeld tram line 041 ( St.Tönis ↔ Fischeln ).

In this context, boundary stones were set up here in the 18th century to mark the border to the former Duchy of Jülich , of which the is
