Hahnenfilz near Mehlmeisel is a nature reserve on the eastern edge of the municipality of Mehlmeisel in the Bayreuth district in Bavaria . It is located in the Hahnenfilz forest, 2.8 km east of the main town of Mehlmeisel.

meaning

The 11.67 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve since 1984. It is a pitted former raised bog . The habitat for moor-dwelling animal and plant species is to be protected and the regeneration of the raised bog remains supported by maintenance and design measures.
