Haley Chura
Haley Chura (born July 23, 1985 ) is an American triathlete and Ironman winner (2014).
Career
Haley Chura was an active swimmer in her youth. At Ironman Hawaii , she was runner-up in 2011 in the age group 25-29.
Professional triathlete since 2012
Today Haley Chura is known as a fast swimmer and she started as a professional triathlete in November 2012. In November 2014 she won the first edition of the Ironman Fortaleza in Brazil .
In October 2015 she had to forego a planned start in Kona after a traffic accident three weeks before the Ironman World Championships . In March 2017 she won the Ironman 70.3 Buenos Aires.
In April 2017, she was third in the first Ironman 70.3 Liuzhou . At the Ironman 70.3 World Championships, the then 32-year-old finished ninth in September. With the Ironman 70.3 Bariloche , she won her fifth Ironman 70.3 race in March 2019.
Haley Chura is trained by Matthew Rose and she lives in Atlanta .
