Saarbrücken Ost is a stop in the Saarland capital of Saarbrücken , which has only been served by regional trains since the 2014/2015 timetable change .
history
The breakpoint was built to connect the districts of Rotenbühl , Rabbitberg , Sankt Arnual and Eschberg to the local rail network. However, it became less important over time. The station was also the stop of the pre-run operation of the Saarbahn .
In 1997, tracks 3 and 4 were closed for passenger traffic . Track 3 was converted into a stump track and the rest of the line to Sarreguemines to Brebach was dismantled to a single-track line.

The building of the stop has existed since 1960. The entrance building is around four meters high and nine meters wide. In the front area there are stairs to platforms 1 and 2. The stairs to platforms 3 and 4 are blocked.

The Saarbahn operates am Ostbahnhof four lines at the stations Ostbahnhof and Halberg road . Line 506 of Saar-Pfalz-Bus GmbH also serves the Halbergstraße stop in the direction of the main train station (but not in the direction of St. Ingbert ).
