The Hammerbach is under this name just 1.5 kilometers long river in the eastern Black Forest . It is created from two source rivers in the city Vöhrenbach belonging place Hammereisenbach-Bregenbach ( Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis , Baden-Wuerttemberg ). There it flows from the right into the Danube source river Breg , whose tributary it is the most abundant in water.

On the western outskirts of Hammereisenbach-Bregenbach, the Eisenbach coming from the right and southeast converge with the Urach coming from the left and northwest to the Hammerbach. This runs through the village eastwards, takes in the approximately one-kilometer Übertalbach from the right and then flows into the Breg from the right at the other end of the village.

Since the Eisenbach is the somewhat shorter upper course of the Hammerbach, but with 0.88 m³ / s compared to 0.65 m³ / s, it is hydrologically the main branch of the river system and shares the official river code number with the common lower course of Hammerbach. The Hammerbach is therefore sometimes included in the Eisenbach - but sometimes also in the Urach because of its greater length.

  • Eisenbach , right source stream, 9.2 km (or hydrologically 11.3 km) and 33.7 km².
  • Urach , left source stream, 11.0 km and 20.3 km².
  • Canal outlet, to the left.
  • Übertalbach , from the right, 1.1 km. Arises at about 920  m above sea level. NHN .
  • Canal return, from the left shortly after the previous one, 0.5 km.

Mouth of the Hammerbach at less than 750  m above sea level. NN on the eastern edge of the village from the right and east into the upper Breg .
