Hammersfeld is a district of the city of Stadtilm in the Ilm district in Thuringia with around 110 inhabitants.
geography
Hammersfeld is located east of the Ilm at an altitude of about 400 meters. The Singer Berg (583 m) rises south of Hammersfeld, and to the east lies the Deube valley . Neighboring places are Griesheim in the west, Stadtilm in the north, Geilsdorf in the east and Dörnfeld an der Ilm in the southwest.
history
Hammersfeld was mentioned in a document on June 1, 1333 in the record book of Erfurt Stifter II 26. According to Fischer in Müllerott, Hammersfeld is derived from a settlement on the field of a Hadamar. Hammersfeld belonged to Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt ( suzerainty ) until 1920 . On October 1, 1937, it became a district of Griesheim, with which it merged in 1994 in the municipality of Singerberg. This in turn became part of the Ilmtal community in 1996 . Ilmtal was incorporated into Stadtilm on July 6, 2018.
Economy and Infrastructure
Hammersfeld is an agricultural place. To the east lies a large former LPG site that is still used for agriculture.
Hammersfeld is on the road from Griesheim to Geilsdorf. The nearest train stations are in Stadtilm and Singen on the Arnstadt – Saalfeld railway line .
