Hammersmith Odeon, London '75 is a live album that documents Bruce Springsteen's first appearance in London , soon after the release of Born to Run . The appearance already appeared illegally on bootlegs , but this is the first official edition. The double CD was released in 2006 on Columbia Records .

General

The album documents the E Street Band's first appearance in London in 1975, which was also the band's first overseas. The British music magazines started a hype about this performance and so the band members had a queasy feeling. It was filmed and recorded. After the concert Springsteen had the feeling, "we hadn´t played that well", but here he was wrong, as he had to admit.

It became one of our legendary performances, marked only in memory, bits of bootleg tape, and "I was there when" stories .

After the recordings, the work was forgotten. After the Rising tour, Springsteen began to discover the beginning of his career, of which there have so far been no publications. That was the reason why the concert was released on a double CD. In addition to the CD, there is also a DVD that documents this concert and is part of the Born to Run: 30th Anniversary 3-Box .

In the charts, album # 93 hit The Billboard 200

Criticism

  • The highlights? Hell, everything here. (The highlights? Damn, everything here) All Music Guide Thom Jurek
  • Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out and She's the One pack - at the risk of blaspheming, I'd say they were better than the originals; (... also at the risk of blasphemy, I say the versions are better than the originals) Mike Milanesi
