18 Tracks is a 1999 Columbia Records compilation by American rock musician Bruce Springsteen .
history
It contains 15 numbers from the previous album Tracks and three songs ( The Promise , The Fever and Trouble River ) that he had not previously released. The album was intended for the casual listener and therefore also contains compositions from the tracks album , which are more oriented towards pop music . In addition, the album should also be advertising for the subsequent Springsteens tour. The album hit # 64 on the Billboard 200 , lagging behind the sales of tracks that made it to # 27.
The Promise was created in the Darkness on the Edge of Town sessions, but was not used for the album. Recorded in 1973, The Fever was a radio hit that Bruce Springsteen's manager Mike Appel made available to the stations. Trouble River is part of the Human Touch sessions but was not used for the album. The song The Promise was nominated for the Grammy in the categories "Best Rock Song" and "Best Male Rock Vocal Performance", but could not win the award.
