Ridge with the Phrygian Midas city

Han is a city in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Eskişehir and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Eskişehir (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 1993 . The city is located about 75 kilometers south of the center of Eskişehir .

The district is located in the south of the province. It borders on Seyitgazi to the west, Çifteler to the east and the Afyonkarahisar province to the south . In the south the district includes part of the Yazılıkaya Platosu plateau , in the north lies the 1532 meter high Karadağ Mountain . The Üççam Baraj Göleti reservoir is located in the south of the district town .

Han moved from Emirdağ County ( Afyon Province ) to Çifteler County (Eskişehir Province ) in 1963 and was elevated to a municipality ( Belediye ) on May 15, 1967 . By law No. 3644, passed on May 20, 1990, Han became a separate district, consisting of the district seat ( Merkez ) and ten villages ( Köy ).

Attractions

To the west of the district at the former village Yazılıkaya (now a neighborhood Mahalla ) is on a high plateau, Phrygian ruins Midas City ( Turkish Midas Şehri ).
