Hannelore soup

Hannelore Suppe (after marriage to Hannelore Middeke ; born September 24, 1943 in Bürgel , Thuringia ) is a German sprinter and middle-distance runner who was one of the top 400 and 800-meter races in the GDR in the 1960s .

In 1965, she won the 800-meter run at the first ever European Cup in Kassel and was GDR champion on the same route. For this she was voted GDR Sportswoman of the Year . As a result of injuries, she was denied participation in the 1964 and 1968 Olympic Games. Starting under the name Middeke after her marriage, she finished fourth in the 400-meter run at the European Championships in Athens in 1969 . In the same year she set three GDR records on the 400-meter route.

Hannelore Soupe started for SC Motor Jena and trained with Annemarie Clausner . With a height of 1.74 m, she had a competition weight of 64 kg.

After a second marriage, she bears the name Hannelore Uhlmann. She has two children and is a geography and sports teacher in Jena .
