Hannes

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hannes is a male name .

origin

The Latinized name Hannes goes back to a Graecized form of the ancient Hebrew original name Yochanan . The Latinized, Greek form of the Hebrew Yochanan is John (which means "God ( YHWH ) is gracious" / "God has shown grace" ). Hannes is closely related to the name Hannibal in terms of time and meaning ("The mighty or the gods are gracious to him") , which is why it is also assumed that both names come from an even older original form. The name Yochanan developed when the Hebrew tribes began to worship God the Eternal Being (YHWH) and therefore expanded the name.
