Hannes Langrock

Hannes Langrock (born May 21, 1983 in Leipzig ) is a German chess player .

Life

At the age of seven he learned to play chess from his father. In 1991 he joined his first club, SG Turm Leipzig . In 1997 his family moved to Hamburg , where he attended the Carl-von-Ossietzky-Gymnasium . After moving, he plays for Hamburger SK . He was registered as a reserve player in the German Federal Chess League from the 2002/03 season to the 2006/07 season , but was only used in the 2004/05 season and otherwise played mostly with the second team of the Hamburger SK in the 2nd Bundesliga North . From the 2014/15 season to the 2016/17 season he played for the Leipzig chess community , and in the 2017/18 season he is a member of ESV Nickelhütte Aue . From February 2007 to January 2008 he wrote the column From the Sidelines for ChessCafe.com and from December 2006 to 2012 he published it in ChessBase Magazine .

At the German U11 individual championship in 1994 in Torgelow, he finished second behind Ferenc Langheinrich . In 1995 he was in Eberstadt with the SG Turm Leipzig German team champion U13; Then in 1999 with the Hamburger SK in the U16 age group. In 2002 he won the Dähne Cup in Baden-Baden after a lightning decision against Ulf von Herman , in 2006 he lost in the final of the Dähne Cup in Kaiserslautern after a lightning decision against Bernd Kohlweyer .

He has held the title of International Master since March 2009 . He achieved IM standards in his first Bundesliga season, the 2004/05 season, an IM tournament of Hamburger SK in January 2005, the Spiltan & Pelaro IM tournament in June 2006 in Gothenburg and the EU championship in September 2008 in Liverpool . His Elo rating is 2371 (as of March 2019). Its highest to date was 2432 in October 2005.
