Sven Telljohann (at times also written Sven Telljohan for the German Chess Federation and FIDE ; * July 15, 1971 in Münster ) is a German chess player . He has held the title of International Master since 1995 .

Sven Telljohann studied at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster.

In 1994 he, shared with Peter Enders , won the Twistesee Open in Arolsen , and in 1995 the German university championship. With the German national team he took part in the 1996 U26 Olympics in León . In the same year he won the Post-Open in Düsseldorf .

He won the German Cup individual championship called Dähne-Pokal three times : in 1998 in the final against Udo Käser, in 2007 in Baden-Baden in the final against the Berlin FIDE champion Benjamin Dauth and in 2016 in Halle (Saale) in the final against Hans-Elmar Schwing .

In 1996 Sven Telljohann won the North Rhine-Westphalian trophy, 2006 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe - Gonzenheim and 2007 also in Bad Homburg the Hessian individual trophy (Golden Springer).

In 2003 he became the international Hessian rapid chess champion . He won the Hessian Blitz Championship in 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008.

He played team chess first for Paulsen Blomberg and the Lengerich 47 chess community , then from 1992 for SK Münster 32 and since 2002 for Schachfreunde Schöneck in the 2nd league East and Oberliga Ost B.
