Uwe Kunsztowicz (born January 18, 1944 ) is a German chess player . He won the Dähne Cup in 1972 and 1991 .

At the North Sea in Esbjerg in 1976 he was split first. In 1965 he was tied for third place in the international invitation tournament for the Dr. Deppe Cup together with Alfred Seppelt . He took third place in Detmold in 1966, where Joaquim Durão won. He played the 2nd Klaus Junge memorial tournament in 1980 in the meeting room of the Hamburg gas works. It was played according to the Scheveningen system (ten foreigners against ten HSK players). He also took part in the Wichern Open and the Hamburg Individual Championship several times in the 1980s and 1990s . He finished second behind Stefan Bücker at the championship of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1983 in Detmold and played the Bargteheide Open in 1988 .

Chess team played Kunsztowicz in the German Chess Bundesliga in the 1980/81 season for the Hamburger SK of board 2. For the SG Enger / Spenge he played in the seasons 1982/83 , 1983/84 and 1984/85 . In the 1986/87 season he played for Hamburg's SG BUE .

He also took part in the Clare Benedict Cup in Gstaad for Germany in 1973 . He played the 1973 European Team Championship in Bath. At the 1980 Chess Olympiad in Malta , he took part as a reserve player.

Uwe Kunsztowicz is a FIDE master , and he also holds the title of National Master of the German Chess Federation , which he received in 1972. His highest rating was 2460 (January 1981). In July 2002 his last game (Landesliga Hamburg, in which he played for the chess department of the rowing club Favorite Hammonia ) was rated.
