Vitali Braun (born September 10, 1984 ) is a German chess player . He was the 2012 Dähne Cup winner. He completed his studies with a successful doctorate .

Vitali Braun took part in the German U18 individual youth championship in Winterberg in 2002 .

He played at the 28th Dortmund Chess Days in 2000 in the Open B of the Dortmund Chess Days , and in 2001 in the Open A. He took part in the German Championship 2005 U25 . At the ZMD-Open 2008 in Dresden he got 6½ points from 9 games.

He was also successful at the 84th German Individual Chess Championship in Saarbrücken in 2013 .

Team fights

He played team chess in Ostwestfalen leagues, NRW leagues, as well as in the NRW class and Oberliga-Nord.

He took part in the 2013 German Cup team championship and scored two points from three games.

Others

He is FIDE champion and member of the SV Griesheim club in 1976 . His highest rating was 2403 (July 2013).
