Hans-Joachim Vatter (born March 2, 1956 in Karlsruhe ) is a German chess player . He was the Dähne Cup winner in 1993 and 2008 .

Hans-Joachim Vatter came third at the German Rapid Chess Championship 2004 in Höckendorf . In August 2009 he took part in the 16th International Open in Nice and achieved an IM norm. He played at the 2010 German Championship in Bad Liebenzell , which Niclas Huschenbeth won. He also took part in the 2013 German Championship in Saarbrücken , which Klaus Bischoff won.

Hans-Joachim Vatter played team chess in the German Chess League in the game seasons 1980/81 , 1981/82 , 1982/83 , 1984/85 , 1985/86 , 1987/88 , 1993/94 , 1994/95 , 1995/96 , 1997 / 98 and 1998/99 for the SK Zähringen . In the 1988/89 season he played for SG Bochum 31 and in the 2009/10 season for SK Heidelberg-Handschuhsheim .

In Luxembourg he played for the chess club Turm a Sprénger Matt Schëffleng in the game seasons 2008/09 , 2009/10 , 2010/11 , 2011/12 , 2012/13 , 2014/15 and 2016/17 .

Others

He is FIDE master and member of the clubs Karlsruher Schachfreunde 1853 and SC Emmendingen 1937 . His highest rating was 2387 (January 1999).
