The list of the team cadres of the German Chess League 1982/83 contains all players who have played at least one game in the German Chess League 1982/83 .
The 16 clubs were allowed to register 8 regular players and up to 12 substitute players, but not all of the registered players were used. The SG Enger / Spenge came out with nine players, most players put the SC Kettig one, namely 14 Total 1982/83 184 players were used in the season, of which 49 participated in all competitions. 11 players had played all games not only this season, but also in the two previous seasons and thus never missed a single-track Bundesliga competition, namely Hans-Joachim Hecht (Solingen SG 1868), Helmut Reefschläger (Hamburger SK in Hamburger SV), Dirk Paulsen , Klaus Wockenfuß (both Lasker Steglitz), Hans-Günter Kestler (SC 1868 Bamberg), Wolfram Bialas (Königsspringer Frankfurt), Heinz Hünerkopf, Manfred Heidrich (both TB Erlangen), Vladimir Budde , Otto Borik (both SG Bochum 31) and Bernd Saacke (FC Bayern Munich).
A club was allowed to use two foreigners per competition, but not all clubs made use of this right. A total of 12 foreigners were used, 9 of whom had already played in the Bundesliga in the previous season; Their Bundesliga debut was made by the Spaniard Ricardo Calvo Mínguez (FC Bayern Munich) and the Austrians Karl Robatsch and Karl Enigl (both from Munich SC 1836).
The most successful player of the season was Murray Chandler (Hamburger SK in Hamburger SV) with 11 points from 13 games. Peter Ostermeyer (SG Porz) also achieved 11 points, but played 15 games, his team-mate Tony Miles scored 10.5 points from 15 games. With Georg Siegel (Königsspringer Frankfurt), Heikki Westerinen (Solinger SG 1868), Jürgen Schulz (FC Bayern Munich), Franz Pischel and Julian Pfützner (both Munich SC 1836) five players achieved 100%, but they only played a few games. Siegel was used twice, the other named players once each.
The oldest player of the season was Paul Tröger (1913–1992), who played for SG Porz , and Hartwig Wiesmann (* 1966) was the youngest player at SG Bochum 31.
