Dirk Paulsen (born January 27, 1959 in Berlin ) is a German chess player . He was the 2014 Dähne Cup winner.

His first participation in a German championship was the German Youth Championship (West) in Wallrabenstein in 1977 , where he came fourth, ahead of Eric Lobron and Klaus Bischoff , among others .

He played in the summer of 1994 in Berlin . He took part in the 1999 German Championship in Altenkirchen (Westerwald) , which Robert Huebner won. At a championship tournament in Tegel in August 1999, he exceeded a standard for obtaining the title of International Master . He played several times at the Berlin individual and cup championships. He also took part in the 86th German Individual Chess Championship in Saarbrücken , which Klaus Bischoff won.

Team fights

Dirk Paulsen played team chess in the German Federal Chess League in the game seasons 1980/81 and 1981/82 for SG Bochum 31 , for SVg Lasker Steglitz from 1982 to 1990. With King Tegel he played in the first division in the 2000/01 season , he competed for SK Zehlendorf in the 2005/06 season .

In Austria he was registered for the club ESV Austria Graz (section chess) in the state league A in the game seasons 1997/98 and 2001/02 , but was not used.

Others

He is a FIDE master and a member of SC Kreuzberg . His highest rating was 2431 (July 2000). He makes his living with sports betting.
