Hans-Gerd Jaschke (born September 7, 1952 in Lautzert (Westerwald) ) is a German political scientist .

Life

Jaschke studied political science, German literature , education and philosophy at the University of Frankfurt . In 1981 he was at Eike Hennig with a thesis on social basis and social function of Nazism to Dr. phil. PhD . He had been working here as a research assistant since 1979 . It was here that he started working as a university assistant in 1985 , which he held until 1991. Subsequently, with the successful completion of his habilitation - on the subject: Arguable democracy and internal security: Basics, practice and criticism - he received the Venia Legendi and was henceforth a private lecturer at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in the social sciences department and up 1996 worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Social Research (IfS).

After his appointment in 1996 to the professorship for political science in the department of police enforcement service at the University of Applied Sciences for Administration and Justice in Berlin , he worked here until 2001. From 2002 to 2007 he headed the department of law and social sciences at the Police Leadership Academy (from 2006 German University of the Police ) in Münster. After working here, in 2007 he returned to the professorship at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences for Administration and Justice, which merged into the Berlin School of Economics and Law in 2009 . There he worked in the Department of Police and Security Management and was head of the Master's distance learning course in Security Management at the Berlin Professional School until his retirement in March 2018.

research

Research on right-wing extremism was a focus of his academic work . His study of The Republicans appeared in three editions between 1990 and 1994. Participation in or leadership in studies on the origins and development of right-wing extremism in the Federal Republic, neo-fascism and youth in Germany, right-wing extremism and xenophobia , the New Right or the National-Zeitung accompany his work. In 2004 he found anti-Semitic content in writings of the Catholic Scouting Society in Europe ; the correctness of his information has been confirmed by a court in all instances . He has recently focused his work on internal security in Germany and Europe, but also on topics related to left-wing extremism and Islamism . From September 2016 to December 2017, he was in charge of scientific support for the Berlin state program for preventing radicalization.
