Hans-Jörg Oestern (born May 23, 1945 in Sanderbusch ) is a German trauma surgeon .

Life

Oestern studied medicine in Bonn and Vienna . In 1965 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Bonn and Greifswald zu Bonn . He passed the state examination in Bonn in 1970. There doctorate he became Dr. med. He completed his two-year medical assistantship in Bonn, Hamburg and Hanover . At the Hannover Medical School he was trained as a surgeon by Borst , Pichlmayr and Tscherne . From 1978 he was a senior physician in trauma surgery. His habilitation thesis was awarded the Hans Liniger Prize by the German Society for Trauma Surgery . Since 1980 he has been a private lecturer , in the last few years he has been the senior physician in charge of the internationally renowned clinic. In 1985 Oestern was appointed associate professor at the MHH and elected chief physician of the clinic for trauma and reconstructive surgery at the General Hospital in Celle . After the ICE accident in Eschede in 1998, he successfully organized care for the injured. Many surgeons from the near and far area of ​​Celle helped. In 2009 he headed the 183rd conference of the Association of Northwest German Surgeons . Retired in September 2010, he was reactivated at the same clinic in 2011/12.
