Hans Artmann

Hans Artmann , even Hanns Artmann (* 14. November 1868 in Rodaun in Vienna ; † 11. August 1902 in Thalkirchen in Munich ) was an Austrian landscape and genre painter of the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Artmann was born as the son of Ferdinand Artmann. His younger brother was Emil Artmann , who later became a civil engineer and university lecturer in Vienna . Artmann began his artistic training as a painter between 1883 and 1885 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . In 1887 he went to Düsseldorf , where he attended the landscape class of Eugen Dücker from 1888 to 1890 at the Royal Prussian Art Academy . There he was also a member of the artists' association Malkasten . He also studied in Paris . In 1896 Artmann was accepted into the Künstlerhaus Vienna .
