Hans Becker (politician, 1929)

Hans Becker (born August 16, 1929 in Düren ; † February 3, 2012 there ) was a German politician and honorary mayor of Düren.

Becker joined the CDU in 1958. He then replaced Johannes Kaptain , who later became the district administrator of the Düren district, as chairman of the Junge Union . He was from March 19, 1961 to December 13, 1983 and from October 18, 1984 to September 30, 1989 city council member of his hometown.

During these times he was 1st Deputy Mayor from May 21, 1975 to December 13, 1983. From December 13, 1983 to October 18, 1984 he was acting honorary mayor. Then he was re-elected 1st deputy mayor until October 18, 1989.

He was a member of the CDU .

Becker's predecessor was Wolfgang Vogt , his successor was Josef Vosen .
