Friedrich Günther (Mayor)

Friedrich Günther (born January 29, 1791 in Duisburg , † November 3, 1848 in Düren ) was part-time mayor of the city of Düren.

Günther studied medicine in Duisburg. In 1811 he received his doctorate as Dr. med. In August 1813 he came to Düren as a doctor. In April 1815 he went to the hospital in Luxembourg as a staff surgeon . A year later, however, he returned to Düren. From 1818 to 1827 he was the Royal District Physician (doctor) in Düren.

In January 1828 Günther was appointed alderman and president of the poor administration and district deputy . From 1833 to 1842 he was a member of the provincial state parliament . Günther died in office on November 3, 1848. His predecessor was Johann Heinrich Flügel , his successor was Thomas Josef Heimbach .
