Hans Hugenholtz Junior
Hans "John" Hugenholtz Junior (born June 10, 1950 in Haarlem ) is a Dutch racing driver and entrepreneur.
Entrepreneur
Hans Hugenholtz Junior is the son of Hans Hugenholtz . His father was a planner of motorsport racetracks and for many years the track director of Circuit Park Zandvoort . Father and mother died on January 10, 1995 as a result of a car accident near Zandvoort . Hugenholtz junior first studied mechanical engineering in Delft and then business administration in Rotterdam .
As an entrepreneur, he made a substantial fortune as a real estate developer and trader as well as a financial services provider . He is involved in various companies and was a member of the Supervisory Board of Spyker Cars from 2004 to 2007 and chairman from 2007 to 2012 . In January 2012 he resigned from this position after differences over the future of the Dutch sports car manufacturer with the CEO Victor Muller . He has been President of HPG Aviation Services since 2010 .
Career in motorsport
Like his father, Hans Hugenholtz junior had and still has various functions as a motorsport official. Among other things, he is the founder and honorary chairman of the Dutch Ferrari Club. Since Hugenholtz did not have to make a living from his involvement in motorsport, he was often referred to as a man's driver. However, this terminology falls short, as it says little about the not untalented driver.
The Dutchman did not contest any single-pole races ; he was only active in GT and sports car racing. He celebrated his greatest successes in the French GT championship. In 2000 he finished fifth in the championship with partner Alain Filhol and a year later third overall.
He competed seven times in the Le Mans 24-hour race . In 1999 he came third in the GTS class. At the end of the 2010s, he switched to historic motorsport, where he is still active today.
