Hans Jürgen Friederici

Hans Jürgen Friederici (born December 15, 1922 in Waldenburg , Silesia ; died June 7, 2004 in Leipzig ) was a German Marxist historian .

Life

Hans Jürgen Friederici was the son of a sales representative. He attended the Waldenburg-Sandberg elementary school from 1929 to 1933 and the Waldenburg grammar school from 1933 to 1941 . There he received the school leaving certificate . In World War II he was a soldier from 1941 until the end of the war. From 1946 to 1947, Friederici was an employee of the FDJ state management in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and a consultant in the Ministry of Education of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in Schwerin . He studied social sciences ( history and philosophy ) at the University of Rostock from the winter semester 1947/48 to the winter semester 1950/51 . He then worked as an assistant or senior assistant at the Social Science Institute at the University of Greifswald (1951 to 1953). From 1954 to 1970 he was head of the “History of the German Labor Movement” department at the Franz-Mehring-Institut in Leipzig and its deputy director (1958–1961). After all, he was head of the “History of the German Labor Movement” research department at the Franz-Mehring-Institut from 1971 to 1987.

In March 1958 he received his doctorate with the thesis “The politician Ferdinand Lassalle . His development from a revolutionary democrat to a petty-bourgeois state socialist ”. He completed his habilitation in July 1965 on the subject of the development of the new strategy and tactics of the KPD and its leading role in the anti-fascist resistance struggle. Depicted on the struggle of the Upper Silesian party organization and German and Polish workers against fascism in the years 1933–1938 / 39 . Hans Jürgen Friederici wrote numerous writings on Lassalle and Franz Mehring . In 1989 he campaigned for Helmut Hirsch to be awarded a doctorate at a later date . He died in Leipzig on June 7, 2004.
