Hans Maurer (politician, 1913)

Hans Maurer (born May 21, 1913 in Eisweiler ; † October 13, 1974 in Saarbrücken ) was a German doctor and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduation in 1932 at the Humanities College in St. Wendel Maurer began studying medicine at the University of Marburg , which he in 1937 with the state examination as well as the promotion of Dr. med. finished. During his studies he was accepted into the NSDAP on August 1, 1933 ( membership number 2,681,901). From 1940 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier . During the war he served as a doctor in a medical company in Russia . At the end of 1945 he established himself as a general practitioner in St. Wendel; as such, he gave birth assistance to Hans Ley, who later became President of the State Parliament, in 1954 .

Hans Maurer was married and had three children.

Maurer joined the CDU and was elected chairman of the CDU district association St. Wendel in 1956. From 1956 to 1960 he was first alderman of the city of St. Wendel and there until 1966 a councilor. Later he was a member of the state board of the CDU Saar and a member of the federal committee of Christian Democrats. He was a member of the Saarland state parliament from 1960 until his death. From 1966 until his death he was President of the Saarland State Parliament.
