Hans Kasper (politician)

Hans Kasper (born January 17, 1939 in Wismar ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

education and profession

After elementary school and high school, Kasper did an administration apprenticeship. He completed the subsequent training for the higher service in general internal administration as a graduate in administration . After studying at the Administration and Business Academy of the Saarland, he worked for the Saarbrücken regional finance office.

politics

The SPD member belonged to the Bonn party council and the state executive committee of the SPD Saar. He was also chairman of the SPD sub-district Merzig-Wadern .

Kasper was a member of the Saarland state parliament from the sixth to the eleventh legislative period (1970–1999). In the Lafontaine I and Lafontaine II cabinets (1985–1994) Kasper was Saarland Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister. He then held the post of President of the State Parliament until 1999.

Personal

Kasper is Roman Catholic, married, has two children and lives in Wadern , where he was also active in local politics for many years.
