Arthur Heitschmidt

Arthur Heitschmidt (born March 16, 1893 in Haldensleben ; † January 27, 1963 in Saarbrücken ) was a German politician ( FDP / DPS ).

Life and work

Arthur Heitschmidt studied law in Dresden, where he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Dresden (today Landsmannschaft Hansea auf dem Wels ) in the summer semester of 1912 . By profession he was a wholesale merchant.

Political party

After the Second World War , Heitschmidt joined the DPS . By joining the DPS to the FDP , he became a member of the Liberals on August 11, 1957.

MP

Heitschmidt was elected to the Saarland state parliament in 1955 , to which he belonged until his death.

Public offices

After the formation of a Christian-liberal coalition, Heitschmidt was appointed Minister of Finance and Forests in the Saarland government led by Prime Minister Franz-Josef Röder on January 17, 1961 . Heitschmidt held the office of finance minister, who was succeeded by Paul Senf , until his death on January 27, 1963.
