Hans Schmidt (musicologist)
Hans Schmidt (born September 1, 1930 in Bonn ; † February 2, 2019 in Koblenz-Ehrenbreitstein ) was a German musicologist .
Life
Hans Schmidt was a professor of musicology at the University of Cologne and a long-time Beethoven researcher like his father Joseph Schmidt-Görg , who ran the Beethoven House in Bonn from 1945 to 1972. Hans Schmidt received his doctorate in 1954 at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn on the subject of investigations into the tract of the second tone from Codex St. Gallen 359 .
